Bev’s Parents (Gary and Nancy) live in a nice little neighborhood in Atlanta, and one of their neighbors introduced himself one day while I was working for Gary. I was honored to meet the man, an Army Veteran during the Vietnam era, as nice a neighbor as you could possibly imagine. Gary and I helped him move a few bookshelves, and while in transit he mentioned that he would like to have planter boxes made and was curious if I had any free time to knock that out for him. I was enthused at the opportunity, so the next free moment I had I met with him, shot the shit a bit and got a plan together. He wanted two, 40″x13″ (i.d.) x22″h planter boxes on wheels. So that is exactly what he got. Beautiful cedar boards purchased along with casters and hardware from the good ol’ depot and about a day and a half’s work later: they were finished up and in his carport.
When he saw them he was pleased. We put them in place and he put a few pots in to check out the height. I could tell that the bottoms were a bit deeper than he had hoped, so I made removable boxes out of treated 2-by material with rope loop handles and dropped them off the next evening. He was very appreciative of the follow-up and the thorough craftsmanship.
