One of my first pieces of furniture, if that’s what you’d call this. I was splitting up a bunch of maple rounds into firewood for my landlord Sally, and noticed a few pieces were nice and dense with beautiful spalting. “Squattie Potties” were all the rage at the time, so rather than spending money on a flimsy piece of plastic, I measured the toilet and got to making something meaningful. Polyurethane finish, and it still doing its job today!
