Bev and I have some awesome friends named Frank and Andrea, who we call FnA. Frank was a devil-dog and has a titanium rod in his knee because of it. Andrea went to my college graduation, Bev officiated their wedding and I sang Luke Combs’ “Beautiful Crazy” as Andrea was walked down the aisle. We have been friends with FnA and their awesome daughters Mackenzie and Aubrey since we set foot in Washington state as civilians, and have spent many a merry evening around the campfire howling at the moon and singing songs together. We let them know that I made a website, and within minutes they commissioned me to make them a “Badass Cutting Board” about 12″ x 16″. So, since I know how much they love the colors purple and pink and the majestic views of the olympic mountain peaks from their front deck, this board is what I made. I used walnut (purple-brown), macawood, madrone (pink-ish tone) and maple, patterned to resemble snow capped mountain peaks, with a walnut, macawood and maple border, all fully end-grain. It took a long time, but every second was worth it for this awesome family who is family to us.
